Unexplained Death of Man on Bustling Scottish Street Sparks Police Investigation

A man has been discovered deceased on a busy Scots road, prompting police to initiate an investigation into the “unexplained” death.

Emergency crews hurried to Glasgow Road near the Marbury Junction at about 7.45am on April 29, following reports of concern for a man by the Shell garage.

He was tragically declared dead at the location, and police closed off the road for their inquiry.

The death is considered unexplained, but Police Scotland has indicated there ‘seem to be no suspicious circumstances’.

Traffic on Glasgow Road was limited to a single lane as witnesses described the area being cordoned off and a blue tent being set up.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: “Around 7.45am on Monday, April 29, 2024, we responded to a call concerning a man on Glasgow Road, Edinburgh.

“Despite the arrival of emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”

They continued: “The death is being treated as unexplained, yet there seem to be no suspicious circumstances. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
