Search Intensifies for Gang Accused of Stealing £200k Jewellery on Edinburgh-bound Train

Police are searching for a group of suspects believed to have stolen £200,000 worth of jewelry from a passenger on a train bound for Edinburgh.

The theft occurred around 7pm on December 14 when the victim boarded a train at Kings Cross railway station. A group of people followed the victim onto the train. After the victim placed their bag down, two members of the group distracted them, while another snatched the bag and quickly exited the train.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released images of six individuals connected with the incident. Officers believe these individuals may have information that could be crucial to their investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

BTP stated: “Anyone who recognizes these individuals is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 691 of 14 December 2023.”
