Safe and Unharmed: LA Mayor Karen Bass Survives Break-In at Official Residence, Say Police

Los Angeles police arrested a suspect after a break-in at the home of Mayor Karen Bass on Sunday morning, according to officials.

The incident occurred at Getty House, the mayor’s official residence located on Irving Boulevard. Despite the break-in, neither Bass nor her family members were harmed.

“Around 6:40 a.m. this morning, an individual smashed a window to gain entry into the Getty House while it was occupied,” the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said in a statement on social media. The statement added that officers responded and took the suspect into custody without incident.

“The Mayor and her family were not injured and are safe. The Mayor is grateful to LAPD for responding and arresting the suspect,” a statement from the mayor’s office read.

The LAPD has not yet released the name or other details about the suspect, stating that the investigation is ongoing. Further information is expected to be made available as the inquiry progresses.
