Kensington Palace broadcasted the news on Friday, featuring a video from the Princess expressing gratitude towards her medical team and the public for their backing in what she described as an “incredibly tough couple of months”.

Ms Trump, the ex-adviser to former president Donald Trump, took to the princess’ Instagram post, commenting, “sending love and prayers to you and your family.”

At the White House press briefing, just as the news was breaking, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre conveyed the administration’s wishes for Kate’s “full recovery”.

“Our thoughts join those with the Duchess of Cambridge and her loved ones in this tough period, and certainly we’re hoping for her full recovery,” she stated. “Out of respect for their privacy in this moment, I won’t elaborate further.”

Ivanka Trump echoed the sentiments on social media in light of the princess’ cancer announcement.

Jean-Pierre added, regarding whether President Biden had been in touch: “At this point, we’ve got nothing to share, but of course, we’re wishing the Duchess a full recovery and it’s really sad news for all.”

First Lady Jill Biden shared a brief but affectionate note on X: “You are brave, and we love you. ~Jill.”

The Sussexes also expressed their support, issuing a statement: “We’re wishing health and healing for Kate and the family, hoping for their privacy and peace during this time.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau broadcasted his thoughts to the Royal family upon the announcement, which was “so courageously shared”.

On X, Mr Trudeau posted: “Thinking of the Princess of Wales, her children, and the Royal Family as they confront this challenge. From all Canadians, we send our support as she begins treatment, praying for a speedy recovery.”

In an emotional video message, Kate disclosed her cancer was detected post-major abdominal surgery at the London Clinic earlier this year.

Press Secretary Jean-Pierre also spoke on the matter Friday.

The 42-year-old princess explained she was adjusting to the news and preparing for “preventative chemotherapy” recommended by her doctors. “This was a huge shock, and William and I have been doing what we can to deal with this privately for our young family,” she said.

The Royal family is reeling from the news, with both King Charles and the Princess of Wales now battling cancer.

Amidst global speculation over Kate’s health, which gave rise to relentless rumors and online conspiracy theories, the princess attempted to calm the storm with a Mother’s Day photo post, which later was found to be edited. She apologized, stating she had edited the image herself.

In the US, celebrities like Kim Kardashian commented on the situation, and talk show hosts have dedicated airtime to discuss the unfolding events surrounding the royals.
